Don't have time to watch the full video? Here's a rundown of our seven tips to keeping and creating safe passwords:
-
Passwords are essential. Just be sure to say no to sticky notes and under-the-keyboard reminders.
-
Require complex passwords. And don't allow users to re-use old ones.
-
Don't change your password before leaving for vacation (or on a Friday). You might not remember it come Monday.
-
Passwords should be easy for you to remember, but hard for others to guess. Sounds simple, right?
-
Avoid using personal information such as birthdates, kids' names, etc.
-
Don't use the same password for all accounts.
-
Change your password often - at least every 30-90 days.
