Seminar: Alternative Investment Firm Regulations

Seminar Will Highlight Key Regulatory and Market Considerations for Privacy, Compliance and Oversight for Investment Firms

Boston, May 20, 2009 – Eze Castle Integration, Inc., a leading provider of technology and IT services to hedge funds and investment firms, today announced a seminar that will address critical areas within privacy, compliance and regulatory oversight. Leading industry experts and advisors from the Managed Funds Association, Ernst & Young and Bingham McCutchen will join Eze Castle on Thursday, May 28, to discuss key considerations for alternative investment managers, ranging from recent regulations to changes in fee structures and valuation standards.

Economic turmoil, regulatory uncertainty and changing investor demands are just a few of the issues that alternative investment managers face. Increasingly, industry discussions center on movement towards separately managed accounts, best practices for measuring counterparty risk and changes to hedge fund fees and structures. Eze Castle’s panel of experts will provide their opinions and real-world perspectives on issues confronting fund managers daily. Specifically,

  • Stuart Kaswell, executive vice president and managing director, general counsel for Managed Funds Association, will provide the view from Capitol Hill. He will discuss possible tax implications, as well as the possibility of buy-side telephone conversation recording.
  • Rich Goldman, partner at Bingham McCutchen LLP, will address anticipated regulatory changes and the impact they will have on technology and data requirements, including data privacy.
  • Dan New, senior manager, advisory practice of Ernst & Young, will guide attendees through the steps needed to operationalize and implement compliance and risk programs.
  • Bob Guilbert, managing director of Eze Castle Integration, will moderate and provide insight to the technology needed to support the upcoming changes and strategies for doing so in a cost-effective manner.

Eze Castle’s “What’s Ahead for Alternative Investment Firms?” panel will take place at the offices of Bingham McCutchen in downtown Boston. Registration begins at 4:45 p.m. EDT and the panel starts at 5:15 p.m. EDT. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with colleagues at a cocktail reception following the panel. Please RSVP online.
